A stop motion short directed by Kheyal Roy-Meighoo in our Masters course. In this collaborative project I was tasked with modeling character pieces to be 3D printed for animation-ready use: head pieces, upper and lower face pieces, and hands.
Due to the connective nature of these pieces, I worked closely with the director and the university’s printing department to figure out the most efficient ways to connect them with magnet placement, through trial and error and several print tests. We juggled simplicity, durability and usability, while at the same time we figured out the project’s 3D artstyle when creating the different character expressions.
100 pieces were printed for use in the animation.
