Artworks and project pre-production I’ve worked on over the years.

2D Work

A personal project I started conceptualizing in 2023, with the aim to produce a 3D animation in the future. These were pre-production sketches and studies I begun during my Masters degree.

Mousetrap: pre-production

2023

This was a University group project set to produce a 3D animated advert for the Bourne Water Dragons community. Below are my contribuitions to the project’s pre-production. My contributions to its production are showcased here.

Bourne Water Dragons: pre-production

2021

In this university project, I was tasked to explore an idea for a character and the environment they live in. I had an idea for a story about a tiny Bonsai tree by a windowsill, being lived in and taken care of by a small clay man. The clay man looks out the window, longing to explore the world and be free, but his duties to the tree keep him inside.

In this university assignment, we took a character and environment from a pre-existing children’s book and reimagined them for a different audience. I reimagined The Gruffalo for an older audience, going for a scarier, darker, grounded design.

Hey Charlie, I'm pregnant, living on 9th Street
Right above a dirty bookstore, off Euclid Avenue
I stopped taking dope and I quit drinking whiskey
And my old man plays the trombone and works out at the track.

He says that he loves me, even though its not his baby
He says that he'll raise him up like he would his own son
And he gave me a ring that was worn by his mother
And he takes me out dancin' every Saturday night.

Hey Charlie, I think about you every time I pass a fillin' station
On account of all the grease you used to wear in your hair
I still have that record of Little Anthony and The Imperials
But someone stole my record player. Now how do ya like that?

Hey Charlie, I almost went crazy after Mario got busted
I went back to Omaha to live with my folks
But everyone I used to know was either dead or in prison
So I came back to Minneapolis; this time I think I'm gonna stay.

Hey Charlie, I think I'm happy, for the first time since my accident
I wish I had all the money we used to spend on dope
I'd buy me a used car lot, and I wouldn't sell any of 'em
I'd just drive a different car every day, dependin' on how I feel.

Hey Charlie, for chrissakes, do you want to know the truth of it?
I don't have a husband, he don't play the trombone
I need to borrow money to pay this lawyer
And Charlie, hey
I'll be eligible for parole come Valentine's Day.

A university project where I picked a poem and created a piece of artwork that would illustrate it. I illustrated the lyrics to the song Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis by Tom Waits. I went for a minimal approach to the piece, as this project was my entry to digital illustration, and at the same time would translate the poem’s somber, empty vibe, subverting its “christmas card” setting.
